Calcined Alumina Bauxite
Calcined bauxite is produced by sintering high-temperature bauxite ore in a rotary kiln, circular kiln or shaft kiln. This process of calcining (heating) bauxite in a kiln removes moisture, giving calcined bauxite a high alumina content and refractoriness, low iron, and particle hardness and toughness. Its thermal stability, high mechanical strength and resistance to slag make calcined bauxite an ideal raw material for the production of many refractory, abrasive and specialty product applications.
